Skimboarding at the beach

Playing at the shore
oil, ACM, 48 x 24 in

A young man skims across the wet sand where Lake Michigan meets the shore. Each pose captures a split second of motion — the run, the leap, the balance. Based on a photo montage I created in Adobe Photoshop, the painting layers four moments into one continuous rhythm. The lake, like time, keeps moving.

Other paintings in the motions series are

Dancing in the Sunset,

Capering along the Shore,

Dancing in the Sky,

Flight Pattern of Crow on Icy Lake Michigan Shore.
